A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne E. Brown – Right Writing Words

title: A song of rage and destruction
author: Rosanna E. Brown
release date: 02 June 2020
rating: 4/5 stars

A Song of Prosperity and Destruction is a story about an anxious young man who can see seeds and an incomprehensible young woman who has been overwhelmed.

I really liked the magic in this book, which consists of the use of Nkra, and how it was presented. (I will be honest, the explanation of what happened was really a reminder to me of the power from Star Wars). The construction of the world was wonderful to read and I loved every part that details the history of this world.

I was able to really identify with Malik and his anxiety. His panic attacks were well written, which led me to believe that the author has a good understanding of what anxiety is. Karina annoyed me a lot at the beginning of the book, but towards the end and realizing everything she was going through, I actually started liking her. The romance in this book was not really there for me and it felt a bit insta-loving.

As for the villain, half and half I guessed who it would be, but I wasn’t entirely sure until the real exposure and even then I didn’t really realize how intense they were.

The story was not what I expected, but my heart was broken for Malik when he tried to rescue his sister. I did not expect the book to end the way it did, but I quote pleased with the ending.

An amazing premiere with an amazing world, a beautiful cover and an intriguing story. Definitely worth a read for any fantasy lover!

that’s it!
