Take one lavish holiday wedding. Add one evil ex and his Bridzilla. And throw in a hot smoker chef from the past. This is a recipe for disaster.

Victoria Blackwood spent years trying to redeem herself after falling victim to an extortion scheme that cost her father 2,000. Therefore, when he insists that she arrange a big Christmas wedding at her family’s winery, she can not say no. Even if the groom is her ex, and The caterer just left.

For Rafael Sanchez, a last-minute call to organize a giant corporate wedding is a golden opportunity. If he can prove he meets the challenge, his brother may place more responsibility on him in the family catering business. But when he meets Victoria, he does not believe what he sees. Five years ago, they had an enthusiastic shot that shocked his world. Until she left him only a fictitious name to remember her.

To finish off the perfect wedding, Victoria and Raphael can not afford to get caught in the past. But keeping things professional will not be easy, not when the attraction between them is more burning than Christmas in July.

My review:

I loved the first book in this series, Hawaii BlueAnd I enjoyed the second book, Red velvet, As well. So I was excited for this third. It will not disappoint! I ended up liking it almost like the first one! Victoria had a really great story, so much drama in her past and also in her present. From the last book we knew that now she would have to be the wedding coordinator at her ex-fiancée’s wedding, and that he and his future bride wanted to use her plans and exact date. But boy was that much worse than that! Missy, the new woman, was an absolute Bridzilla. And son, her ex, wow, what a dosh.

Then we had Raphael, a new character we could meet, but an old flame for Victoria. We learned exactly what Victoria did that her father held over her head to get her to continue working on this wedding. There was a lot of family drama, but not just for Victoria, even Raphael had things to deal with from his own past. Because of this, the two really fit together perfectly. To be honest, I did not get upset at all about any of the things that people kept secrets in this story, I think they were all realistic and logical. In fact I feel like they told people when they should, instead of making crazy dramatic decisions not to do so. So when things did explode in the end, it was real, and neither of them had any reason to feel really bad with secrets kept. Sure, both of them, especially Victoria could have handled things better. But it was really easy to understand why she did what she did, as well as why Rafael was not so quick to let everything slip back.

A wonderful ending to this series, and I look forward to reading more from it in the future. I also want to try some of the Christmas themed drinks they discussed, especially this sleigh driver’s drink, even if they did not enjoy it that much.

About the writer:

Carla Luna writes a contemporary romance with a drop of humor and a hint of spice. A former archaeologist, she still dreams of traveling to distant places and canals that wander into the frames of her stories. When not writing, she works at the Spice Emporium where she gets paid to discuss food and share her favorite recipes. Her passions include Broadway musicals, baking, whimsical office supplies and pop culture podcasts. Although she has roots in Los Angeles and Victoria, BC, she now lives in Wisconsin with her family and her pampered Siberian cat.
