In this humorous and heartwarming novel, sparks move between a woman who can’t wait to leave a wintry island in New England, and a widower who will do anything to stay.
Writer of the travel magazine Celeste Bell in a terrible mood. Not only has her flight to the Caribbean been diverted to the island of Massachusetts, now it looks like she will have to spend Christmas there. Single and still mourning the loss of her mother a year earlier, Celeste is desperate to avoid any emotional entanglement and any holiday celebrations. She just has no desire to celebrate.
But that’s exactly what community center director Nathan White and his young daughter, Abigail, want to do. When he meets Celeste, Nathan begins to feel connected and wonders if he is brave enough to risk his heart once again.
Thawing their frozen hearts and saving the community center will require a Christmas miracle. But this is the season ….
We meet Celeste Bell when she finds out she missed her flight to the Caribbean. It’s a few days before Christmas where she’s going to do a piece at the Festival of Lights. At the same time we meet, community center director Nathan White, who is in New York to study his community center would not receive a donation they desperately needed for operating expenses. The two arrive on the same flight to Christmas Cove. He will be home but determined to keep the bad news from the community until After the holidays. She expects to hop on another plane that will eventually bring her to her destination. The blizzard and strong winds have other ideas and she finds herself stuck on the small island off the coast of New England.
It was a sweet romance and a good feeling of “Hallmark” from the events at the community center to acts of kindness and everything in between. Can the city girl who just wants to skip Christmas find happiness and more?
I loved everything about Christmas Cove, from the quaint B&B to the community center and its fun activities. Secondary characters added interest and made me curious about their stories. Nathan and his daughter Abigail will steal your heart like the story of the other guest at the inn. The charm of a small town from the weird agent at the airport to the girls in the center made me feel right at home. You will soon want to plan a trip.
The affair was sweet and their feelings felt real. Since they were both likeable and realistic characters, I was hoping for happiness and wealth. The story will be a charming Hallmark Christmas movie.
A Christmas Cove Celebration by Carrie Jansen is perfect for those looking for the Christmas story of a small town on the beach with all the hallmark sections. # New Edition # Holiday Reading # Review Click to tweet
