I really enjoy KA Tucker’s Simple Wild series and was happy to read Forever Wild, a holiday novella that takes place after the second book. Christmas, relatives, snow resides on the farm of Calais and Jonah.

From the international bestseller company of “The Simple Wild” comes Forever Wild, a novella that continues the story of Cala’s journey to the wild in Alaska and a life she never imagined.

The holiday season is upon us for Cala and Jonah, and with the mistletoe and ginger comes a lot of family drama. Jonah is getting organized for two weeks with a stepfather he despises, and while Cala is waiting for her mother and Simon to arrive, she fears the ongoing pressure to set a date for their wedding … in Toronto. Add in the unintentional intervention of one crazy neighbor and family quarrels of another evil neighbor, and Christmas at Trapper’s Crossing will be anything but simple.

We’re back to Trapper’s Crossing Alaska, and the holidays are upon us. Both Cala’s parents and Jonah’s parents, stepparents will come, and dear friends. I love this series from the picturesque setting to the evil neighbor who stole our hearts.

Calais has not yet set a date for their wedding and mothers have all sorts of ideas. They both want it to take place in their home areas. Jonah continues to quarrel with his mother’s husband and the neighbors offer all sorts of marriage advice. I loved being a part of the festivities and watching events unfold with decision making.

Tucker’s characters are realistic, fully developed and will steal your heart. I love the townspeople they befriended at Trapper’s Crossing, and the author makes us feel part of the community.

We get a fear that reminded us all of what really matters. Tucker provided all the sensations and gave us a wonderful summary of the story of Cala and Jonah. Of course, we’ll see more of them in the next book, Running Wild which will share Marie’s story.

Although, I do not recommend reading this story before the first two novels, I hope fans of the series will accept it. It was a delightful Christmas story with lots of surprises and scenes with characters you learned to love. I laughed, fainted and I wish I was there.

Lovers of romance in small towns, settings in Alaska and romance in the series will love the Simple Wild series.
