** Complete trilogy – spoiler-free review **

‘That’s all I was now. an animal. A forest resident who did not fit into society. And that was all their blame.’
‘She can never come back. She knew too much now. She could never be trusted.
And … I want to keep it. ‘

We decided to read the Happiness Legend series in one hit, and what an emotionally draining journey This It turned out yes! When we get into this very dark romance of Pepper Winters, we can not say we were completely ready, even though we had an idea it would not be easy to read. it was not. We are huge fans of dark romance, it evokes an emotional response, it makes you doubt yourself and if superbly written like this series by Pepper Winters, it makes you fall deeply in love with flawed characters while developing an understanding of their inner turmoil and subsequent actions. Dark, disturbing and terrifying – yes definitely – but it was also hopeful, stressful, inspiring and passionate. It was pretty cruel but epic and a love story and for Kasen Sands and Gemma Ashford.

‘He kissed me like he never knew kindness. As if pain is the only thing that released him. I could not stand it. Stop! … I lost. I kissed him back. and. This. Was. This.’
“The longer I keep you alive, the more likely I am to be happy … even if it’s for a short time.”

Good vs. Evil is woven into an erotic and passionate story of despicable villains in the face of improbable submissive heroes in a dark and twisted reality of love and hate. Unhealthy relationships that rise from the fire, are cleansed and purified by compassion and understanding. Book One killed us, Book Two shook us to the core, and Book 3 healed us slowly. We must mention the beauty between the ugly, and emphasize the important roles that nature and animals play in our mental health, healing and well-being.

‘He sacrificed himself for those he loved. And now, he has nothing left. ‘
‘Cass was rough and wild and unstable, but maybe it was the healing process of someone who had just come back to life? He spent only a decade in existence, extinguishing his humanity, slipping willingly into loneliness and endless monotony. ‘

Pepper Winters took an age-old concept from the legends and wrote it in the distorted form of the living world of the Living Brothers before they became delicious to small and big ears. The parable of happiness gave us a whiplash of emotions. We felt exhausted, tearful, relieved, happy, devastated and scared. Emotions on a wheel of repetition led to us never feeling really safe. We were hamsters who could not go down. There is the saying the proverb of the thin line between love and hate, and it has never been clearer than in this story. There were moments we struggled with the characters for various reasons, while the sexual chemistry was not from the parade, despite the origin of the beginning, it is Made Sometimes the lines of exaggeration and repetition are blurred in such a heartbreaking story of physical and mental survival.

‘I was ready for it. I wanted the good and the bad, the joy and the sad. I wanted to be by his side every step of the way. Because I love him unconditionally. ‘
‘I chose my new master. I chose her. It was My choice.’

The twists, tensions, corruption and compulsions caused our pulse to skyrocket in terror and discomfort. The broken hearts, broken minds and scarred bodies made us cry until our eyes ached and blurred the words. We both agreed that as the books progressed so did our enjoyment of them, the third book being our favorite of the three. It really knocked us to six and we felt everything Pepper Winters intended us to feel. Really explosive, really heart-stopping, and really compelling. This series is not for the faint of heart, but we had to embark on a journey that took over our lives for a while, as we should have known, needed to understand, needed to recover when Xen Sands captured our hearts. We definitely recommend this trilogy to dark romance readers who enjoy love stories that break boundaries and romances that take you out of your comfort zone. In the last note, we’ll be happy to hear more from the other characters who suffered alongside Cass, and hope Pepper Winters agrees!

‘My blood for your blood. Until we meet again. ‘
