“Falling for you was like gravity.”
Penny Reed’s latest offering is a fun and flirtatious sporting romance with a small town vibe, and it’s a story that fits our mood perfectly! We fell head over heels for the blatant, blatantly but sweetly sweet McMurtry Rex, the Chicago Schools defensive star, and the sweet and weird Abigail McNearney.
My twenty-eight-year-old father, McNerney, has been ridiculously dead to the handsome Rex McMartrey for 13 years, and fell for him while still in elementary school. However, my father never believed that the feelings would ever be returned.
‘They hugged me. By Rex. And it was an experience like no other. ‘
After a disastrous relationship, my father is now ashamed of relationships after a bad experience left her living byOnce bitten, twice shy ‘ Proverb, while Rex seems unlucky in love – the recipient of many settings and blind dates by friends and group members.
After a night of contempt at a bar where my father works, in the small town of Allenbach, Austin, Rex approaches my father with a proposal for a fake marriage. Rex believes it can benefit both of them, plus he really enjoys my father’s company. Can he convince my shy father on a date to try his arrangement?
“Everywhere you are I want to be.”
The sexual tension between Rex and my father came out of the parade! The brawl was sweet and funny, and slowly, my father was able to open the pages of the closed book that was Rex McMurtry. It was an absolute pleasure to see the relationship between them unfold.
“Maybe we both deserve how good it is to be real people in our lives.”
There’s warmth, laughter, sweetness, and hmmm … lots of porn on the forearm. The subject of fake marriage may have been a bit of a hit and miss for us, but Homecoming King was a hit. We adored this book, which provided a much-needed refuge. We are now desperate for the next two freelancers in this series to be Cyrus and Alaric’s books. We say … bring them!
“Do you still want me when you find out I’m not too good to be true?”
