2 in the series
Courtney Kelly has a shop full of delights, a cat named Pixie, a green thumb – and a magical touch when it comes to garden design. But in Carmel by the sea, not everything is sweet and fairy lights. . .
When Courtney’s girlfriend, Wanda, gets into a wrestling match and pulls out a ponytail in public with a nasty local art critic, Courtney stops the fight with the help of a garden hose. But Lana Lamar has a knack for escalating things and creating tension, which she manages to do by threatening a lawsuit, getting into another melee – in the midst of an elegant fundraiser, no less – and dropping insults like sour balls.
The next thing Courtney knows, Lana is on the floor, stabbed with a decorative letter opener from one of Courtney’s fairy gardens, and Wanda stands and asks “What did I do?” But the answer may not be as clear as it seems because Wanda tends to spin and seems confused. Could it be that she got up from her nap and committed murder while unconscious? Or is the guilty side of someone else tickling her, like her suffering husband? To find out, Courtney will have to dig up some dirt. . .

First place in the series
But when unrequited trouble enters her store, she will need more than a scattering of her imagination to solve a murder. . .
Ever since her childhood, Courtney has loved fairies. After her mother died when Courtney was ten, she lost touch with that sense of magic. A year ago, at the age of twenty-nine, she rediscovered it when she left her father’s gardening business to spread her wings and set up a fairy garden and tea shop in beautiful Carmel, California. At Open Your Imagination, she teaches garden design and sells everything from fairy sculptures to ringing wind chimes. She’s now opening a book club tea.
But the magical world light she has created inside her store is darkened one night when she discovers neighboring dog grooming business owner Mick Watkins dies near her porch fountain. To make matters worse, police suspect Courtney of a crime. To clear her name and find the real killer, Courtney will have to kidnap him. But she’s about to get a little help from an unexpected source. . .
