I’m taking a bit of a blog break over the next two weeks but I’m happy to close out Annette Hannah’s blog tour Poppy’s Christmas wishes By sharing my review today. I thanked Lung Corinne for inviting me to attend.
I’m a real fan of Annette’s writing and she’s listed here Linda’s Bookcase In the past, most recently when I reviewed it The small and cozy cupcake van Here. Annette appeared here as well when I reviewed her debut novel Wedding bells at the Signal Box And we stayed together to talk about it.

Poppy’s Christmas wishes
What would you wish if they gave you three wishes?
For the first time she remembers, Poppy fears Christmas. Tossed without ceremony by her boyfriend after passing for him around the country, there is nothing cheerful in the holiday season this year.
Trailed to a Christmas ball by best friend Leila, Poppy meets the amazing actor Gabe, who stars as Ginny in the play. When he asks her what three wishes she will ask, she realizes that it is quite simple: love, a job she is happy with and only once in her life, to do something extraordinary.
Gabe and Poppy make an alliance to help each other fulfill their dreams. When they mark their wishes, their friendships flourish … but when they discover, sometimes, what you want for Christmas is not necessarily what you need …
A delicious romance to cuddle up with this festive season from the creator of Wedding bells at the Signal Box and The small and cozy cupcake van.
My review of Poppy’s Christmas Wishes
Poppy moved to Bramblewood.
It was a real pleasure to return to Bramblewood with Poppy and peek at some of the characters and settings I know. However, Poppy’s Christmas wishes There is no need for prior knowledge in Annette Hannah’s library and it stands on its own which aids in absolute festive joy. There is real warmth and truth in the writing of Annette Hannah who does Poppy’s Christmas wishes A lovely book to cuddle with – even when Poppy’s life is not going according to plan!
I loved the plot here. There is a naturalness to events so that even the most dramatic moments feel authentic and Annette Hannah has a real talent for presenting humor and emotion that are really balanced so I laughed out loud and found moisture in my eye while reading. Poppy’s Christmas wishes It left me uplifted and pleased when I finished the book. This is not to say that it does not also have depth. Without spoiling the plot, I will say that there are some deep emotional challenges for some of the characters and an investigation of harassment in Brian’s workplace adds another dimension to the reading that is very satisfying. There are some really unexpected moments in the story that I found just wonderful.
The characters feel so loyal to life. I loved Poppy and Gabe from the moment I met them and really wanted them to be together and be happy to the end, but you will have to read Poppy’s book Christmas wishes See what the result is! I thoroughly appreciated the way sexual preference is so effortlessly woven into the story. There is no morality or hard hand, but a gentle understanding of people. I think it is this humanity and sensitivity towards the human emotion that makes Annette Hannah’s writing so appealing. Even when she entertains her readers and brings them happiness, she does not shy away from the flaws of her characters, poor choices or inappropriate behaviors like that Poppy’s Christmas wishes Provides a glimpse into the real world of real people.
However, what I enjoyed most was Poppy’s Christmas wishes There was the festive fun of it. A trip to New York, amateur dramas, romance, wishes, my God, the glorious food that becomes one of this author’s trademarks, do Poppy’s Christmas wishes Sheer escapist fun. Poppy’s Christmas wishes Stormy with entertainment and I really enjoyed it.
