I’ve spent more time reading books that I am genuinely interested in and I’m having such a great time.
Art, graphic design, advertising, marketing… aside from these being my profession, I enjoy learning about it. Which is why I hope to bring more of these to this little blog this year! Of course, there will be tons of variety since I get bored easily.
Today’s book is for the graphic designers, the content creators, the… whoever likes organization-ers. It’s a book that came at the write time for me, and I can not wait to practice it when I have the time.

BOOK REVIEW
* A review copy of this book was given by Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.
This was very enjoyable to read.
I remember my lecturers placing heavy importance on grids every time we worked on our design projects. It was not something we were taught, so this book particularly stood out for its’ 100 principles in an area I clearly needed help in.
This book and its’ layout made reading so easy. It was clear, direct, and each principle was strengthened with an image that made it easier to understand how it is used in practice. It included inspirations from various materials such as catalogs, posters, instruction manuals, magazines, websites from the West and Asia, which I really appreciate.
This book also included layouts for more complicated materials like charts, tables and infographics, which I now have a newfound appreciation and respect for. I can not wait to visit my local transportation hub to pick up the train maps and see the layout in action. This is something I’ll definitely be paying more attention to from now onwards.
Despite being a resource book, the personality of the author comes through in their descriptions for each project. It is always such a joy to read as it plays on the topic, and makes it more entertaining.
I can not wait to put what I learn in action.
