Book starts on Fridays
Are you reading anything special in December? For example, do you read books with a distinct theme of Christmas or holiday? Or particularly pleasant books?
I love pleasant books in December. They don’t have to be Christmas books, but I stay away from action-packed, oppressive or overly political numbers. I love a big shaggy classic this time of year, or a vintage mystery, and I try to slip into rom-com feel-good or the Aga saga.
I look forward to posts starting books on Fridays in December to see what you like to read during the holidays. Please share the first sentence (or something like that) of the book you are reading or a book you want to emphasize.
The beginning of my book
M The red button By Keith Eldred:
Bell would start working early in her life regardless, as her family needed her contribution, but that was earlier because her mother, Lily, died of consumption when Belle was still a child.
The red button Is an imaginary prequel to A Christmas carol. This is the story of the young Ebenezer Scrooge and his affair with Belle Andicott. Bell is only briefly mentioned in the original story. This book is built around the captivating idea that Ebenezer Scrooge secretly carries with him a red button that reminds him of his lost love. This will give you a new appreciation for Dickens’ classics.
Keith Eldrad wrote the red button as part of a so-called project It’s red. Keith and his wife Janet started This is Red when she was diagnosed with dementia early on. The goal of This is Red is to raise money for the local library where Janet worked as the library director for many years.

M The red button:
Ebenezer provided a selection of samples, so Archie and Belle were able to show what was available from the factory. Merl grabbed one item.
